Market in Chicago!

In September we (my hubby and I) went to Chicago for the National Bridal Market. We had so much fun seeing, and buying, the new lines for spring. This was the first time either of us had been to Chicago and we loved it.

This large white building is the Merchandise Mart. The market was held here on the 7th and 8th floors. This building takes over 2 city blocks!

Imagine rows and rows and rows of this: dresses, manequins, models, sparkling accessories and people ready to take your order! You can't see the end of the aisle in the picture, but it went on forever.
They had a fashion show to introduce some of the new lines. Can you see the super tall girl off to the left? She was on stilts with a wedding dress that still went to the floor. Very dramatic opening.

Here she is walking the runway, waving silver ribbons.

This show was all about DRAMA. I don't know if any of my brides would go for a hat that size.

Here are a few of the girls coming in, ready to go down the catwalk.

Look! A dress with sleeves was in the fashion show! This dress was georgous all-over lace.

These ladies were so much fun. The gal on the left, Joyce, is the dress designer for Loanne Paris (I'm the one in the middle) and Terri, on the right, answered all of our questions. We are really excited to get some of their dresses in the store.

These ladies are with the Wedding Gown Preservation company. They are super nice and have a great new program for preservation that I'm really excited about.
